currie
« on: June 02, 2010, 09:17:16 AM »
he's been in mhk about a year now. thoughts? opinions?

at first i was kinda "this guy looks average. middle tennesee state didn't hire him a year or two ago. why should we?"
then i was kinda "hmm. maybe pretty good."
then i saw him in person and heard the frank contract stuff and was kinda "i hate him. i want to fist punch his neck"
then the frank stuff got done and the bball and fball scheduling has just been amazing and i've seen him a few more times and now i'm kinda "this guy seems pretty decent"

Quit looking at Capital and Starkers, and start looking at CPK and Cheesecake.  You'll find him.

they are both white and from the south, so this is very possible.

let's all list currie ups and downs

currie up- scheduling. don't care if this is his job or not. the bball and fball scheduling has been amazing since he got here. espn gameday. cbe next year. puerto rico last year. florida next year. non con road games for fball in good locations. nebraska thursday night. top notch all the way around.

currie down- initial handling of frank/contract.

Positive:  Ticket packs for football are a good idea.  I love the pricing decisions he has made with football tickets.

Negative:  Touching a single hair on Frank's head

Positive:  Removing ridiculous Old Balls' perks (allegedly)

he shouldn't really get credit for scheduling imo.

i used to think that his jcpenneyish clothing choices were a negative and then i realized that he probably does it on purpose to allow him to connect better w/ the fanbase and to not come off as some high falootin east coaster.

The bridge is burnt.

And yeah, Assaley can take any credit Currie's gotten in this thread.  Don't even care if the credit was for non-basketball stuff.

If he can make the bb practice facility happen without going the typical "good enough" ksu route, I will love him. If he can put ksu_fan's version of octawood floor in Bram, I will offer him my first born.
