More details to come, but FattyFest will be Saturday 9/21. That's the first football bye week.
We may have something going in the late morning or noon-ish, but the main trivia/auction part will be in the mid-to-late afternoon and we expect there to be some show/pak'n at Mae's on through the night. Book your hotels/cars accordingly.
Wow, this is still pretty accurate.
Hoping to have this locked down in the next couple weeks, but here's the general idea.
Probably late morning, something that may include a bit of a campus tour and actually seeing the space at the library we're hoping to have secured by the end of this FattyFest and/or hearing about it over at the Foundation building, along with brunch/lunch together somewhere. Anyone can come to this, including those that won't be getting pak'd the rest of the day. Aside from getting to see what the point of all this fundraising has been, part of the idea here is to extend FattyFest to be a full day of stuff worth traveling to, without everyone being dead by 4pm. If it's tough to get out of family stuff, make a trip out of it - bring your whole brood and do this morning part together and then have them do other things while you're slamming beers and answering trivia questions for a few hours.
2-ish, start the usual FattyFest events at Mae's - trivia, auction, etc.
When that ends, we'll have pizza or something available, hoping to line up a partner where we can sell the food for donations. But the main thing is we'll all be able to stick together for dinner.
Post-dinner, jakesie's band and whatever other entertainers are procured will do a show there at Mae's and on to the usual night of FattyFest debauchery.
I encourage all to stay Saturday night and we may even be able to line up a group discount at a hotel. But if you can't, there'll be enough going on during the day parts to be worth the trip and still be in shape enough to drive home.
We still have some accounting to do with the library people this week, but we think we're going to be in a position to do a huge push this year and make this FattyFest the last one where we're stressing a bit about how money is raised. If so, future FattyFests can be just partying and bringing in a few bucks for upkeep at the library.
