also, exit though the gift shop is one of my fav docs, but there is some speculation that banksy staged all the mr. brainwash stuff.  either way it's a fantastic movie.

banksy and all the film makers deny it, but when you think about it in the context of the film, it seems entirely possible.

Yeah Man of Steel was great. It moved very quickly and could have been a 3.5 hour movie easily but still it was great.

People really hate this film. I have no idea why. It was great.

This is the end induced many   's

i assumed it would be a movie about IRL buds hanging out and have a bunch of jokes that only IRL buds would get.

basically thought it would be similar to "Grown Ups," which is an awful movie about IRL buds hanging out.

i'm not really sure what to say if you saw a trailer for "this is the end" and thought it looked similar to "grown ups".  maybe you are just really horrible at comparing things?

"Man of Steel" has me very conflicted. The first half is like The Dark Knight trilogy, but the second half is more along the lines of The Avengers. I loved the first half. My biggest complaint about Superman is that he's too perfect, the only thing that can stop him is some bizarre element that no one's ever heard of. But the movie does a really good job of making him seem human and that he's overcome a bunch of bullshit to be Superman. But man, what a bunch of unnecessary action during the last 45 minutes of the movie. It really upset me.

I am hoping to see both of those this weekend too.  Monster's U tonight for me as well.

World War Z is getting good reviews.  I read the book (which was awesome) and the book is from the perspective of a reporter who was documenting the events way after the fact, by interviewing those who were there.  So, they had to change that up quite a bit to make it from the perspective of a single person who was actually at these events.....that's the part that I am the most curious about.

yeah, i read the book also.  normally i would assume that a brad pitt movie will be great, because he is brad pitt.  but man, something about the previews looks bad.

I really hope the do the scene where humans start fighting back do those square formations of the dudes with rifles just blowing zombies heads off for hours and hours, building up giant mountains of dead zombie bodies.    :crossfingers:

I'm glad that I did not pay to see "The Purge." The movie could have been decent if Ethan Hawke and Lena Heady were replaced by different actors. They were both horrendous.

I despise Keanu and Ethan equally as they ruin or attempt to ruin ~90% of the films they are cast in.

What do you know, Brad Pitt is amazing in yet another movie.

World War Z was great. Lots of good action.  Brad Pitt's adventure to find the origin of the disease was fun.

I believe they are making another one.  Can't wait.

World War Z was pretty good. Don't expect to see any scene from the book at all. Basically they took the concept of a world wide zombie outbreak and wrote a totally different story; which is not surprising considering how the book was written.

Also, I don't recommend watching in 3D.
