Watched the brutalist. Expected to dislike it. Not a big Adrian Brody fan.

It was terrific. I broke it up over 2 days, great story.

Damn, I keep putting it off but you may have sold me on it. Ever since The Irishman I've been very skeptical of 3.5 hour long movies.

Yeah I get that. I know for me I went on a Scorsese kick during that time and I made the mistake of watching it before Goodfellas and I couldn't finish Goodfellas. Not a bad movie but the overall plot is like 80% the same.

What? The Irishman is a 3/7 boring piece of crap and goodfellas is like 7/7 non-stop entertainment.

That scene of 80yr old deniro whipping a guy's ass but he's supposed to be "deaged" to like 30 but the body movement is still grandpa is one of the more lol movie moments I can remember.

The Assessment - A decent sci-fi flick that's pretty uncomfortable throughout. There's nothing really mindblowing in it but it's pretty well done.

Superman - This is the best Superman I've seen, but that's a pretty low bar.  It's basically Superman done to Marvel quality and isn't as dark and broody as previous DC movies.

Knocked out a few longer movies this weekend while I recovered from getting fixed.

RRR - 6/7 - Nonstop Bollywood fun.

LA Confidential - 5.5/7 - Probably would be higher except I happened to see a major spoiler while the movie played at a bar in Santa Fe. Granted, I wouldn't have seen the movie if the couple of scenes I saw had sold me on it.

The Last Emporer - 3.5/7 - It's fine. I get why it won Best Picture. I feel like I should have researched the history of all of that before watching it because I just had so many questions throughout that I had to stop and google.

Watch it on Netflix if you aren't doing the Screenland thing.  Also, the Screenland thing will sell out, but probably not until a week before.

I enjoyed Oddity. Scratched my thriller/mystery itch similar to a Midsomer or Hereditary.

Yes, definitely worth a watch with some really good scenes.

Lawrence of Arabia - 7/7 - have had a friend's copy for awhile but hadn't had the four hours to put into it. I understand the hype. Hell of a production for 1962.

Sunset Boulevard - 7/7 - an absolute masterpiece. Not much more to say.

Airport - 3/7 - slow and melodramatic. Final fifteen minutes are good but not worth the prior hundred.

Mank - 6.5/7 - watched this after Citizen Kane. Really enjoyed it. I recommend doing it as a double feature with Citizen Kane first.
