Lars and the Real Girl is one of my favorite movies ever.  Crazy, Stupid Love is also very good.

Remember the Titans?  Terrific.

I also liked THE BELIEVER.

He's good in Drive (just broods the whole movie but is an excellent brooder), Nice Guys, and played his role well in Barbie.  I think I liked Half Nelson but I haven't seen it in forever.

I think he's a bit overrated but he has his moments.

I love Nice Guys.

Deadpool and Wolverine was fun. Superhero movies suck ass for the most part anymore, but I enjoyed this one.

Watched Barbie with my wife and 15 yo daughter last weekend.  It was fine. I think I just prefer movies that make sense.

I watched little big league last night.. very likeable as I remembered but as far as 90's era filmed baseball movies go it's still mid tier compared to a lot of the rest.

Yes, very fun. One non-stop 4th wall breaking zinger, which isn’t for everyone, but loads of fun.

I saw Terminator for the first time last night, even thought I've seen Terminator 2 a lot. That James Cameron sure knows how to make an entertaining movie.

I also saw Carlito's Way for the first time this week. Pretty meh. Also, what a shitty name for a movie. It sounds like the name of one's first chapter book or something.

Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls is a good time. It's a relatively low-budget horror/comedy with fun practical effects.

Inside Out 2 - I think it’s been long enough that this isn’t a spoiler, but I’ll give you a warning anyway.

I enjoyed it, but it doesn’t have the charm of the first for me. The reason is because that’s not how anxiety works. It makes for a good story, but no one writing that has a kid with anxiety.

Watched 'THE INSTIGATORS' on AppleTV over the weekend. It was pretty OK. I didn't and still don't understand the motivations of any of the characters, but I like Matt Damon and Casey Affleck doing Boston things.

I watched Fifty Shades of Grey for the first time last night...

About 15 min in I was like...WTF am I watching? Ms TBT has talked about some scary movie type movie that she wants me to watch and I needed to watch the real thing first

Thief (1981) - 6/7

a lot to like here if you're a Mannhead. crazy that this was his directorial debut, because it's like instantly recognizably his. some exceptional work from Caan (RIP) and of course the tangerine dream soundtrack. are there too many slow mo shots of dudes getting shot? yes there are! should Mann have employed a womann (lol) to maybe help write the (1) female character a little better? yes absolutely! also xpost with white people names thread, the name of the actress is "Tuesday Weld" (?!?) lmao.
anyway big recommend if you like night shots of cars driving that look cool as crap, extremely well researched technical details about cops and robbers, and/or james caan.

I Saw the TV Glow - a horror movie done by A24 that blurs the line between reality and a 90s Buffy/Are you afraid of the dark-style TV show.  It's more creepy than scary but I think that mimics the feeling of watching a nickelodeon horror show growing up.

Watched HOW IT ENDS on Netflix last night.

A movie called HOW IT ENDS with an ending that bad must be a practical joke.

I saw Longlegs last night. I'm afraid of saying anything that would hint at anything, but it's the best horror movie in years. There's only one or two things holding it back from being the first horror movie up for best picture since Silence of the Lambs.
Didn’t care for the third act but it’s very scary/creepy and well made!

I enjoyed it. It was much more simple than I was expecting. It's been a good year for horror between this and Late Night with the Devil.

I've also watched a lot of John Carpenter movies over the past month and that's been fun. The Thing rewatch plus Prince of Darkness and They Live. I would like to watch In the Mouth of Madness but that has proven to be a challenge.
