Anybody else catch Stop Making Sense in IMAX last week?

Nope, but that sounds fantastic.  I wish I'd have known

It was glorious.  Everyone in the theater was boppin' and rockin' to the beat the whole time!

'Big' is not a good movie. I just watched it with my kids the other day. The main issue I have is how the mom is treated. She sees a man in her house wearing her sons underwear and thinks this guy kidnapped her son. The police come for like 5 min and then are like 'welp, no luck bye' and you never see them again. You never see his dad again after he's 'kidnapped'. It appears no one helps or comforts his mom, not even his best friends parents who live next door. Then he stumbles home weeks later wearing a man's suit and no shoes and it's supposed to be a happy ending? She's going to live with this trauma for the rest of her life.

Also it's creepy that a 12 year old had sex with an adult woman.

I didn't enjoy Big even when I was a kid and it was right in my age wheelhouse.

I did enjoy Splash

Splash was great. Had that on VHS. John Candy as the porn addict Camaro driving brother was a delight.

Yes, the sly adult humor in all 80's family type movies is so good.

Nicole Kidman's husband dies. Ten years later a little boy says he is the husband reincarnated. They fall in love kinda.

Take it to the crushes and boners thread!!
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I saw that in theaters this summer and enjoyed it.

Been going through some horror/thriller movies!

Infinity Pool - 5.5/7 - I don't even know how to describe this. It's like having a fever dream while watching a Black Mirror episode, with a touch of psychedellic trip sprinkled in for good measure. It has two scenes that will stick with me forever.

The Vigil - 0/7 - Boring. It's like you had a weird dream that you wouldn't quite classify as a nightmare.

Saw X - 5/7 - After you see it, it's pretty clear why it got the best reviews of the series. If you enjoy the series, you'll enjoy it (probably).

Muppets Haunted Manshion - 6/7 - The Muppets always deliver! And if you are easily frightened, fret not; this may just be the perfect Halloween movie for you!

I do not mess with horror movies and this one still sounds too scary

What about shows that are parodies of horror movies, like Cabin in the Woods? I think that one might strike the right balance between comedy, sci-fi, horror, fantasy that is really a different genre while still being “spooky.”
