Nightmare Alley anyone? Love me some B Coop! It was entertaining.
I liked it quite a bit. Reminded me a little of Shutter Island.

Moonfall - Perfect! It's basically Independence Day but much dumber and replacing the charm of Goldblum and Smith with Patrick Wilson and some rando from GoT.  It's just fantastically dumb.  The absolute dumbest.  Also, enjoyable.

I never got tired of the moon ominously rising over some mountains.

What were you expecting? Also, those songs were written by Lin Manuel.

I would give it an A-. I must disagree with your review. If you liked Moana, you'd like this movie.

Encanto was lovely. I watched tick, tick... BOOM! the other day (also Lin-Manuel Miranda). It was fantastic! My favorite film of the year so far. Ridiculous that it isn't in the running for Best Picture. My ranking of Best Picture nominees that I've seen so far:

Belfast
Power of the Dog
Dune
Nightmare Alley
Don't Look Up

I watched Kimi on HBOMax.  I would give it 4 stars of 7.

It was ok because I love Zoe Kravitz, but in the end, I never really understood the motivation behind the bad guys.  Why was the owner of the company being blackmailed?  It maybe should have been a series where they could have dug into the characters more.  No idea what Mrs. Tom Hank's character was about.

i watched The Tender Bar.  Good coming of age story but formulaic. Kid has a rough childhood and still grows up to be successful.

Watched a couple “young person and old person go on the road together and learn and grow and change” movies on out and back flights this week.

Cry Macho - Clint Eastwood looking every bit of his age.  Movie just as slow and feeble as he is.  Sad, because I’m a huge fan.  C

Best Sellers - Young/old bond more convincing in this one with Michael Cain and Aubrey Plaza.  Enjoyed it.  Solid B

Just watched it a couple nights ago.  Nothing special, just a good watchable movie.

I've heard that the book is fantastic and the movie is just ok.

Caught a late showing of Licorice Pizza last night. Not being terribly familiar with Paul Thomas Anderson's work, outside of There Will Be Blood, I don't think I was really prepared for what I watched. That being said, I enjoyed it. It had a Once Upon A Time In Hollywood meets American Graffiti kind of vibe. Probably has a real shot at Best Original Screenplay if I was a betting man (which I am!)

Nobody was a decent little action flick, if you want to call it that. Bob Odenkirk is the main character. I had no idea what it was about. It just came on. I think that made it more enjoyable.

It's solid. Bob O fans will definitely enjoy, but I'm trying not to pimp it too hard so that expectations aren't out of whack. That said, it might be the greatest movie of all time.

I agree.  I expected it to be pretty formulaic and it probably was but just about the best version of the formula.
