So I finally decided to watch The Godfather this past weekend. My wife was out of town so I was bored enough on Saturday to sit for a 3 hour movie. It was fun to watch after seeing references/parodies in lots of other movies over the years. It was pretty good. I'm not one to trash classic movies just to be contrarian and obviously movies lose some impact 50 years after the fact. I'm sure in the early 70s this film was revolutionary. One part I didn't get AT ALL was Michael Corleone going to Sicily and getting married after a few days and then she gets blown up never to be mentioned again. What was the point of that?
Anyway, pretty good movie, too long for me, needed to cut out that Sicily part, I can see why it made such an impact in its time.
