Escape from New York 3.5/7

This movie was released in 1981 and Kurt Russell is the lead. Manhattan Island is a prison and the president's plane is hijacked and taken there. All of that had my attention, but the fight scenes are really bad.

While watching this movie I wondered if it influenced Mad Max or vice versa. Mad Max 2 came out the same year.

This was a "documentary" that was auto recommended to me. "Greatest Wealth Creation Event in History" sounded intriguing. It's nothing but a long, well produced infomercial for how awesome it is to live in China these days and how profitable it is to do business there. I don't know how it could be anything other than Chinese propaganda. Lol.

Just watched Action Jackson for the first time and it is a very fun 80’s action movie. It was as bad/hilarious as hoped and it appears to be where Michael Bay took most of his inspiration. Carl Weathers, Craig T Wilson,  Vanity, Sharon Stone and Argyle

6.5/7

Wow. That's a high score. Are you standing by that score before I watch this movie?

I was pretty pak’d, probably a 4/7 on that scale, but I pretty much stand by it.  But I laughed out loud more times watching this than a lot of comedy specials.  Make no mistake, it isn’t a “good” movie, but I had a lot of fun watching it. I’ll revise my rating to a mere 6.2/7.

Do you guys think top gun 2 will be a giant stinker or a movie that will fly people back into theaters in 2021?

Watched hustlers last night and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how this movie was thought of by anyone as a good movie. It entertaining for about 15-20 minutes, the other 1:30 was dull and uninspired.

Watched Wonder Woman 1984 yesterday afternoon.  I really liked the previous WW movie but this one....yikes.  It was mostly a ripoff of oscar Almighty with a Quantum Leap inspired plot point, featuring some Cats level CGI and a completely absurd script.  Running time of 2.5 hours.

Enola Holmes was not as good as i had hoped for but still enjoyable. i loved the premise and the style, but felt a bit... loopy. good cast, Millie Bobby Brown is fantastic.

Got around to Midsommar last night.  I guess I liked it, it was pretty creepy.  Pretty sure I'll never be able to set foot in Sweden after watching this.

I really enjoy scary movies, but I think I'm going to skip this one.
