Watched Annihilation.  It was great.  The final standoff in the lighthouse was pretty powerful stuff.  I liked the self-destructive theme.  That director has me.

I recently decided to work my way through the Bond series.  Finished Dr. No and am about done with From Russia with Love.  Really excited for Goldfinger.

Goldfinger - You can tell production value went way up.  Already starting to get pretty self-referential.  Enjoyed it, but I think I'd probably opt for From Russia with Love.  Cold War intrigue is a little more relatable than a dude who loves gold.  Anyway, I've liked all three so far.

1. FRWL (Connery)
2. Goldfinger (Connery)
3. Dr. No (Connery)

Ad Astra - after like 4 tries now I guess I can say I am not a fan of james gray

I only needed one try to know that I didn't like this movie.  At all.  I did go back and watch the space baboon scene where it ate the other guy's face off, like wtf was that about.

to clarify i meant 4 tries at james gray movies:

we own the night
the immigrant
the lost city of z
ad astra

they are all total snooze fests with not enough uniquely artistic parts to make them worthwhile for me

I thought it was ok. Just nothing all the interesting happens. Plus some really dumb character decisions.

That's why it's not in theaters I guess.  I like this trend.  Like, I wish Snatch would have been 3 hours longer with exclusively more scenes of the gypsies and Brad Pitt up to shenanigans.  I would have streamed that at home, and in between bathroom breaks and nacho stops, I would have loved it.

Joker was some seriously depressing crap.

Watched this last night and can confirm.  It was damn near too dark, gritty and depressing to enjoy.  Like, the movie ended and I just sat on my couch and sulked for about 5 minutes.  Joaquin Phoenix absolutely nailed his performance.

4.5/7

I was watching the Irishman and it was ok and then 'clams was like let's play overwatch and so then I stopped the movie and played overwatch. Still have an hour left. Not even sure when I'll finish it. Streaming is great.

Sometimes I sit down to watch a new movie, but then I end up watching Out Cold for the 1,000th time and play on my phone.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls
