Thinking about watching Polar on Netflix today.  Anyone watched that one yet?

Polar was OK.  It reminded me a lot of Smokin Aces.

Tammy and the T-Rex is outstanding.

Although the movie tells a tale as old as time (teenager's boyfriend is mauled by a lion and has his brain inserted into a T-Rex), the movie is elevated by an electric performance from Denise Richards.

Fyre doc was great.  Just a feel-good story everyone can get behind.

Watched The Fast and the Furious last night for the first time in full or at least the first time in 15 years. Pretty enjoyable! Lots of great/awful lines and acting, very era specific music that doesn’t really hold up. Lolworthy special effects. Just fantastic!

You know, people give Hollywood so much grief about playing it safe by just trotting out remakes or rehashing the same formulas again and again, but they try something new one time...

Impressive cast in that turd.
That movie recently made Anne quit drinking IRL for 18 years (until her baby is out of the house), because when on set, Matthew and his wife got her totally mumped up one night and she screwed up a job interview the next day.

Meeting for a next project, whatever you want to call it. I think she told the story on Ellen or something. She was super hungover and couldn't even function.

https://www.glamour.com/story/anne-hathaway-quitting-drinking

So it wasn't for another project, it was a serenity meeting.

Quote
Hathaway shared a story about another time drinking impacted her work: a hungover business meeting after a night out with Matthew McConaughey, her costar in the upcoming film Serenity, and his wife, Camila Alves. "We drank the night away, and then I had to go to a meeting with Steven Knight, our director, the next day, and I was just kind of…have you guys ever had to go to a meeting hungover?" Hathaway asked the audience. "I was just kinda stumbling in with one eye open, and I was trying to convince him about certain things about my character."

"And at the end of it I said, 'Listen, I have a confession. I was hungover the entire time.' And he just goes, "Oh, really? I couldn't tell,'" Hathaway said. "Then two days later we had another meeting and I showed up and he said, 'Oh, now I can tell.'"

I see Diane Lane is also in that movie.  Her and McConaughey were probably just using that film to work on their chemistry for the upcoming blockbuster "Barge Gas".
