Game Night was pretty good. Not as funny as Horrible Bosses but still pretty funny. Probably more of a rental.

Even kdub loved game night, amazing

I stand by that review. Pretty good is about right.

Haven’t seen much lately. I think last one I saw was Ralph 2. I went in expecting it to be a shitty imitation of the original, stuffed with internet bullshit and product placement. It met my expectations. The Disney princess scene and the venelope music number were good, but that’s about 7 minutes of the movie. Also, nobody seems to care that the first movie was all about not “going Turbo” and the sequel is like “yeah, whatever, do what you want.”
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

I love the visual of Dub at the movies with his 37 smiling children while he angrily scowls into his notepad, determined to wreck the crap out of Ralph 2 on the internet later

no way he lets his kids actually buy candy at the theater. "ok now, everybody gets two dollars when we stop at quick trip and be quick about it. the movie starts in fifteen minutes."

We actually do bring our candy. But we still buy the ridiculously overpriced popcorn and sodas because it just tastes better.

Ever since I found out there were places you could drink beer while watching movies I’ve been doing that.

My local theater also has a small reserved seating section and I refuse to go if I can't get a reserved seat. But the beer always makes me pee halfway through the movie which I don't like

Game Night is one of those comedies that you watch on an airplane that is surprisingly really funny at the start and then kind of fizzles out. It's just ok

I wasn't crazy about game night but have seen it getting a lot more praise than I expected (from people outside this blog)

the new theater in mhk is super nice and I haven't been to a movie that wasn't a reserve your seat/lie flat/order food from your seat movie since it opened. if there is something we want to see and it's only showing in one of the few regular theaters, we don't go.

I don't think I went to a single movie in 2018. I love going to the theater but just can't deal with the inconvenience.

But for the kids, there have been very few movies released that would entice me to the theater.

That is a good description of game night, and exactly where I watched it. Good Dexter appearance at the end though.

I originally was gonna SF smug shame you about this but realized since the theater in MHK opened I have done the exact same thing.

Who's in Game Night? Is that the one with the Workaholic crew?
Jason Bateman and Rachel macadams and the coach from Friday night lights and the black guy from new girl and the British star of catastrophe.

Some remarkably similar movies I recently watched on  planes include the will Ferrell casino movie and the Zach galifinakas/John Hamm spy movie. All involve simple white suburbanites getting in over their heads in the world of crime

Don't forget Landry (Jessie Plemons) from FNL, which apparently blew no ones mind but my own.
