Have you guys seen The Way, Way Back?  I love that movie.  Such a great feel good movie.  KSUW's mention of Sam Rockwell is what made me think of it.  I love his character in The Way, Way Back.  So if you haven't seen The Way, Way Back check out The Way, Way Back.

As a matter of fact 33, I have seen that movie.  Check out my review of it from the mists of time:

The Way Way Back

Cast was good. I enjoyed how Steve Carell showed off some versatility by being an unlikeable prick. Sam Rockwell was his usual stud underrated self.  The kid who played Duncan really embraced his role as an awkward semi-loserish self but was still believeable when he became a semi-confident semi-stud at the end.

Great review Brock Landers.  Very correct.

So after watching Avengers: Infinity War and not even recognizing some of the characters, I decided to go back and catch up on all the movies in the MCU I’ve skipped. I’m about to say some pretty controversial things so consider yourself warned....

The original Thor sucked. Easily one of the worst installments in the MCU. But I actually liked Thor 2 - contrary to most critics. Thor 3 was hilarious.

Iron Man 2 is bad. Iron Man 3 is even worse. There is literally no reason to watch Iron Man 3. It doesn’t even add anything to the other movies in the MCU. It just sucks.

I finally finished Avengers 1. I still don’t really like it. It was boring. But the stuff with Loki made a little more sense after watching Thor and Iron Man 2 (which both sucked). But I really like Avengers 2, which many consider to be the worst MCU movie. It was funny and entertaining and did a better job of weaving things together from other movies. And hey Wakanda makes a first appearance!

Captain America Winter Soldier was great. Captain America and Guardians definitely have the best standalone movies.

Ant Man was just ok.

Alright I think I still have maybe 5 more to watch. Sounds like CA Civil War is gonna be important heading into Infinity War.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

If you google around there are refined lists for what is necessary to watch in order to understand A:IW. Mostly the ones involving the infinity stones, and if you want the ones that introduce new characters.

I have never watched a Thor movie. I just picked up the context in Infinity War that Loki and Thor apparently like each other by the time Infinity War starts.  :dunno:
Is Shuri in Avengers 2? If so, I may need to watch that.

Almost all superhero movies have bros that fight and then are friends again.  I would hold a bigger grudge if someone tried to beat me to death.

Marvel movies in the order I've seen them:

Avengers 1 - don't really remember too much except it was meh 3/7?

Avengers 2 - way better than 1 5/7

Guardians 1 - 6/7

Civil War - woof, turned this piece of crap off after 30 minutes 1/7

Thor 3 - very fun 6/7

Spiderman hc - better than expected 6/7

Thor 3 is really funny and worth watching. There’s a little bit from Avengers 2 that leads into Thor 3 (mainly concerning the Hulk) but it’s not too important. Thor 2’s not bad, either. I would skip Thor 1.

Also I love love love Natalie Portman but what a seriously terrible waste of a great actress.

Unpopular (maybe wrong?) opinion:  The guardians of the galaxy are overrated and basically sucked big time.

We are in my wheelhouse now that the focus is on Marvel movies.  I've seen them all (except Ant Man cause busy and Hulk for obvious reasons).  Ask me anything.

Quick handy lists for you guys.

Catastrophe's movies you need to see leading into Infinity War: (tried to put these in order but :dunno:)

1. Iron Man (prerequisite to watching any Marvel movie, really)
2. Avengers 1 (#2 tries to add story/buildup, but it's really not necessary with Civil War being what it is)
3. Captain America - Civil War
4. Guardians of the Galaxy (either one really; if you have to pick one, go with #2)
5. Dr. Strange
6. Thor Ragnarok (super fun movie)
7. OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED - Spider Man Homecoming (the movie doesn't really provide any helpful backstory but it is great and really makes you like the character)

Marvel Movies Ranked
1. Iron Man
2. Dr. Strange
3. Spider Man Homecoming
4. Avengers 1
5. Thor: Ragnarok
6. Captain America
7. Guardians of the Galaxy
8. Ant Man
9. Guardians of the Galaxy 2
10. Captain America - Winter Soldier
11. Captain America - Civil War
12. Thor
13. Avengers 2
14. Black Panther
15. Thor 2
16. Iron Man 2
17. Iron Man 3

Unranked: Ant Man 2 (have not seen yet); Infinity War

Disqualified: Hulk (garbage)

I watched Teen Titans Go To The Movies and it was pretty good.

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy (2?) and I don't understand anything about the aesthetic or why that movie is so popular.

guardians of the galaxy 2 was not very good. it was ok. I liked the first though. watched isle of the dogs last night. I really liked it. i'm guessing that's like a 50/50 movie though where half people will hate it and half will love it.
