One of my friends was complaining on Facebook that the gay moment in Beauty and the Beast wasn't gay enough.

Just wasted money on Logan. This is why I should ignore reviews and wait for Redbox. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really in any way enjoyable, either. Just stab, stab, stab, boring, boring, boring. Best part was the Deadpool tease.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Why was Logan good? It's basically Logan and a little girl stabbing people in the head in different settings for two hours. I'm not saying it was bad - the main actors all gave good performances, the dialogue was fine, the characters were somewhat interesting - but the story was just dull. This is not something I'd have any interest in watching a second time. Utterly forgettable.

Let me guess, you liked Zoolander 2 right?

Logan was arguably one of the best comic/super hero movies (Marvel or DC) of the last 10 years...besides BB/TDK/TDKR of course.

I thought Zoolander 2 had funny moments. Not nearly as good as Zoolander 1, but worth a laugh most of the time. I enjoy lots of genres and I don't knock movies just because they're a comic book movie or a gross out comedy or a chick flick - I want them to be good for what they are. Movies should be entertaining (whether thoughtful, funny, suspenseful, visually stunning, etc.). Logan wasn't any of those things. It was over two hours of Logan wheezing around, dropping f-bombs, and stabbing people in the head. Over and over and over again. That gets boring real quick.

I could name at least a dozen comic book movies significantly better and it's not even my favorite genre. Deadpool, Guardians, the recent Batman trilogy, Captain America, Iron Man, hell even some of the earlier X-Men movies....

Passengers wasn't great, but it was better than the ratings it received on Rotten Tomatoes. Worth renting.

I agree. When you dig into the reviews, it looks like a lot of them were putting gender politics outrage ahead of actually reviewing the movie. I was disappointed by how the movie went from a really interesting dilemma to basically papering it over with a more conventional popcorn flick ending, but some of these reviewers were clutching their pearls so tightly that nothing short of murder or castration or both was going to satisfy them.

I didn't see Beauty and the Beast. And Passengers is not about "rape culture." What happened was perhaps just as morally repugnant, but also completely understandable in the situation.

I was happy with the ending. There were a lot of directions they could have gone, and it was still somewhat of a surprise the way it wrapped up which is a plus in my book. Overall, the movie wasn't nearly as predictable as I was expecting.

Based on previews I had no idea about "the big twist" so I was pleasantly surprised by how different it was. What a choice to make!

Kong: Skull Island:  I assumed it would be really campy.  It was actually pretty fun, and some cool effects/monsters.  My grade school son loved it.

'Nine Lives' producer guy:  Listen Kevin, I want you to play the lead in this new movie Nine Lives.

Kevin Spacey:  What's it about?

'Nine Lives' producer guy:  You turn into a cat and then pee and poop on a bunch of stuff you're not supposed to.

Kevin Spacey:  I'm in.  And I think I can get Christopher Walken on board too.

Rewatched passengers with my wife. She was happy about the ending and didn't seem all that upset about the choice. She's also the one who was annoyed at the gay stuff in the new BATB. My wife is even more traditional than I am.
