The Nice Guys -  :star: :star: :star: :raccoon:
I didn't realize it was Shane Black until I started watching it.  Seems to be another Kiss Kiss Bang Bang but not quite as novel.

I don't feel at home in this world anymore - :star: :star: :star: :star: :raccoon:
I enjoyed it!

Mel's not a bad actor, either. He's an awful person, but very skilled at his craft.

Central Intelligence - 2 thumbs up (out of 3?!)

It managed to exceed my low expectations.  Dwayne Rocky The Rock Maivia Johnson was funnier than I imagined he would be.

I enjoyed Get Out, but I don't understand the 100% on rotten tomatoes thing at all. It wasn't necessarily a game changer like they've made it out to be.

A grave underestimation on my part, never to happen again.

100% just means no one hated it, not that it's perfect

I saw Logan and cried twice. It was a great sendoff to two of the greatest characters in any franchise ever. 7/7 tacos

Get Out was really good. Was original and well done which is rare for a horror flick.

Thought it was excellent as well, and that little kid was vicious.

I saw it last night and agree. The most interesting thing to me was how they were able to show the violence that each of the mutant powers could do without dumbing it down. I had previously had a hard time buying the whole "citizens fear mutants" shtick used in previous XMen movies. After seeing Logan I can completely understand a scared citizenry.

I actually prefer my violence to be PG-13 in its detail.  Don't really like to see gruesome stuff.

Just watched Arrival.  I enjoyed it, but it definitely felt like a rehash of Contact with the twist of interstellar intermixed ever so slightly.

Also watched fantastic beasts.  Enjoyed that one as well.

I didn't think most of the violence was all that gruesome, but it definitely showed the power wielded. It showed more violence than the previous movies, but didn't linger on it.

The salvation - on netflix rn, p good. Standard western revenge movie. Well shot, 6/7
this was good. watched it this weekend. I wished it had a bit more narrative (granted the leading lady couldn't talk  )
it was well done though
