Is 'Arrival' any good?  Thinking of redboxing it.  One person told me it was a one way ticket to snoozetown usa, but another person told me it was a one way ticket to pretty goodtown usa.  Someone can break the tie for me if they want.

i can't remember if i gave it a 6/7 or 7/7.  would probably go with 6/7 for general consumption and 7/7 for people closer to my movie tastes.

I'll give you a comparison: if you're a dumbass who enjoys movies like Ex Machina that make you feel smart by pretending to be way more profound than they actually are, you'll like Arrival. For me it was 4.5 out of 5 Mehs. I'm shocked this thing got a best pic nom.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

I enjoyed Ex Machina because it was different, weird, and entertaining.

I enjoyed Arrival less, but still found it interesting.  I would say both are better than most of the recycled crap that Hollywood pushes out.

if there is something worse than a pseudo intellect crashing down on people who enjoyed ex machina the movie then I'd like to know about it.

Maybe K-S-U just isn't smart enough to understand what is going on during Ex Machina and Arrival.

Or you could get off your ass and watch Ex Machina.

Sigh, alright, another comparison.... Inception? Interstellar? Those movies were at least somewhat entertaining (if too long) so not a perfect comparison to the lifeless, dull mediocrity that is EM and Arrival, but you've got the same basic "dumb people think this movie is really profound when it really isn't" vibe to them.
