Just finished The Martian, pretty good flick. Matt Damon needs to quit getting lost in space, costing us a lot of money

Watched The Revenant and Hateful Eight over the weekend. Leo and Hardy are spectacular but the movie is meh.

I enjoyed H8 more. It was not quite as good as Tarantino's last 2 movies tho, but still very good.

Agree with The Martian being pretty good movie, but IMO this is one of those cases where there isn't really a good way to capture the full book on film. I mean most of the book is Damon's character talking to himself, and it's his thought process working through the details of each problem/solution combined with his sense of humor that make the book great. Movie did a decent job portraying his humor, but no way to get the rest without making it super long. Maybe could do it as a tv series.

went and saw Room instead of Spotlight. Incredibly powerful movie. Fantastic, gut wrenching, hopeful, just outstanding.
