there's one thing about ex mac that really bothered me at the end.

also my theater lost power when ava was putting on a dress and they didn't rewind when the movies started back up so i missed like probably like 5min right there  :frown:
How was the movie still playing if the power was out? That makes no sense.

Backup power
I get that, but why did the backup power only work on some machines?

My assumption is the reel kept going but the projector didn't. I don't know TownieCat but I guess you'll just have to take my word for it

I just know that if the power goes out while I'm watching a movie at home that my tv and bluray player both turn off.

Its not too late to come clean. If you admit you dozed off during the movie no one will judge you.

I haven't either.  I used to get to second base pretty regularly, and missed a bunch of some movies that way though.

Ex Machana

Strengths: Acting, Setting, Robot Desigin, Nudity, Intimacy and Dark Tone

Weaknesses: PLOT PLOT PLOT... This is obviously a little early after release to discuss spoilers, but you didn't roll your eyes at the convince of the whole "I did it LAST night" reveal?
Also Ava claims to start the outages by overloading the circuits with a spike of of electricity when she charges, yet multiple times the outages happen when she is sitting being interviewed. This led me to believe that there might yet be another explanation, but no, it's just poor writing.

SPOILERS: Rewatching it now, I didn't think much about the time that Caleb sees Ava walking around at night. Is it crazy to think she could have programmed the power outages to happen at a certain time, knowing when the interviews were going to be?

i watched mule earlier this week actually.  i found it largely just gross, but it had its moments.

i really have a hard time with accent movies.

Upon rewatching it I agree. Ava initially tells Caleb that she overloads the circuits when shes recharging on her energy panels. She says she just reverses the flow of electricity and it overloads the power and blows the circuits. I took this at face value the first time, but the second time through it is clear she must be lying about the nature of exactly how she causes the power outages. It is quite possible she was programing them somehow.

don jon.

i feel like a 15 year old TBT would like this movie way more than a current TBT. random bare chested ladies and stuff, but this movie had no rough ridin' plot or story or direction or anything. it felt like this was a good idea someone had then they started filming with no direction what so ever. like none, at all. it was only an hour and a half long, and i feel like i only got some semblance of a real thought the last 10 minutes of the movie.   :raccoon:

Completely agree. I had the further displeasure of paying 20$ to see it in a theater.

Saw Mad Max on Friday - felt like a live action 'brutal legend' - guitar guy steals the show.  Action 90-95% of the movie.

matinee price - OK, not much more than that, probably won't watch again but was entertaining never-the-less.

Watched Mad Max (the original) over the weekend. I had never seen it before. It had a tiny bit more plot than Fury Road.

Thunder dome has more plot.   I often ask myself, who really does run Barter Town?

Saw San Andreas this weekend. It was pretty good. Apparently, if you are a search & rescue helicopter pilot you can just take it wherever you want to rescue your own family.
