Kingsman.  Holy. crap.
I saw it last night expecting to be entertained, not have MY BEST MOVIE GOING EXPERIENCE IN YEARS! My goodness what a fun movie.

It looks like it could be my next Kick-Ass.

I think I expect too much out of best picture nominated movies. After hating american sniper and gone girl, I've now seen birdman and the grand budapest hotel, and mostly disliked them. I won't get around to watching the others before tomorrow night, so I'll assume birdman wins out of the 4 that I've seen.

Yes. Wanted to see that one as soon as I saw the preview. It did not disappoint.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I didn't care for boyhood. I imagine you did.  Linkletter (sp?) seems like he'd be up your alley.

His trilogy is good. I enjoyed Bernie. Most of the rest is real trash.

Boyhood is a fantastic idea that was terribly executed. Like, real bad, man.

The constructor of Boyhood is a man who was never a boy.

I did not see Grand Budapest, Boyhood, or many of the other nominated movies yet, but of what I've seen, here's what I would vote for for the Oscars:
Best Picture: Selma
Best Actor: Steve Carell
Best Actress: Rosamund Pike
Best Supporting Actor: JK Simmons
Best Supporting Actress: Keira Knightley
Original Score: Alexandre Desplat, Imitation Game
Visual Effects: Interstellar

Boyhood was depressing but pretty amazing to watch.

Birdman, wow. Glad I watched it. Ed Norton is fabulous

I was going to watch Boyhood last night but then I saw it was 3 hours and I knew I'd get too tired, but I will watch it. I thought Birdman was a little too full of itself

Oh yeah it's definitely full of itself but it's super creative, and the writing and acting is superb. And the cinematography was nuts, like I have no idea how they did it

Wes Anderson movies are sublime. I haven't seen GBH yet. Tried and failed a couple of times.  :frown:

It is the first one I've seen that imo felt like a big time motion picture rather than an indie flick
