Just watched Foxcatcher and it was incredible.

Steve Carell could legitimately win an Oscar for Best Actor and would not be surprised to see a Best Picture nomination.

Went to KC to watch Unbroken with a bunch of friends on Christmas Day. We all read the book first.  Good movie, but the book is great?  Would recommend.

Saw Nightcrawler yesterday. It was very good and full of suspense. Jake G was DeNiro-like.

Took Mrs. Deputy Dawg to see The Imitation Game.  It was awful to watch, had to sit through the whole thing because the wife seemed to be enjoying it.

I saw the new Hobbit movie in Imax 3D at the Olathe AMC 30 and thought it was awesome.

Super huge HD Evangeline Lilly didn't hurt my judgement either.

The One I Love -  :star: :star: :raccoon:

Pretty good and worth a watch.  One of those movies that seemed to have a pretty solid concept and just didn't quite deliver on it.

*spoiler*
yeah, what an ending. so like, the guy was willing to move on throughout the whole movie while his wife was not, and so that's what decisions each ended up making at the end? idk. great concept. it's like the writer should have brought somebody else in to help him finish it off or something. i enjoyed it tho

the skeleton twins.

for a movie with such depressing themes, i really found myself enjoying watching it.  kristin wiig (sp?) and bill hadar are really good.  but man, a real downer movie.  you'll laugh.  you'll cry.

if you're the type of person who can enjoy a movie that revolves around suicide, then give it a watch.  otherwise, find something else.

Awful, a completely unrealistic portrayal of Italian-Americans.  :star:

saw unbroken last night with the mrs. thoroughly enjoyed it. Got the book for Christmas, so I'm looking forward to reading that.

the Hobbit was also v. good. do NOT like 3D though, but my pops does so we saw it in 3D.  :Ugh:
