I watched Apocalypse Now (Redux) in its entirety last night for the first time. So it is probably one of my favorite movies. I was absolutely floored, even with all the hype and jerking off it has received for the last 35 years. Just amazing.

do you think redux is better than non redux?

I didn't get it.  Also I was hoping for a war flick.

redux has improved sound and picture and color, and Francis Coppoloa re-edited the whole thing and ended up with 45 additional minutes, so yeah i would say so. i've never seen the non-redux tho. Redux is 3:15.

Redux adds a little lighter feeling. There are some really great parts left out of the original, but also stuff like the french plantation could be cut

It's everything the first Purge should have been. Why in the world would you show  the boring stuff going on inside some rich person's house when all the craziness is going on outside?

This makes me want to see it much more now than I did.

If the new purge movie has a fault, it's that there is not enough Michael Kenneth Williams.

Man-o-man, sometimes you watch a beautifully made movie. I mean, just something to stare and look at.

Saving Private Ryan.

Throw in top-notch actors and storytelling and wow, gimme the popcorn.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

They used the same actors for 12 years, at least the main character anyway. The idea seems very cool, something that hasn't been done.

Guardians of the Galaxy. What a joy. Summertime movie making at its best. Probably my favorite marvel movie, but I'm way more of a space epic guy than a superhero guy.
