What's everyone's thoughts about Edge of Tomorrow?

FWIW, I rough ridin' loved it. I thought he couldn't out-do himself after Oblivion but Tom Cruise has had three fantastic movies recently in my opinion.

Saw this, amazing.

This weekend 1984, the following movies were in the theaters.  Holy crap...

Ghostbusters
Gremlins
Indiana Jones - Temple of Doom
The Karate Kid
Star Trek III
The Natural
Police Academy

Why would Gremlins come out in June? Isn't it a Christmas movie?

I thought it was pretty good. I didn't think Oblivion was all that great, though.

Christmas setting, but not a major part of the movie. Movie could have taken place anytime.  Kinda like the first Die Hard (released in July)

10 hours of flights yesterday, here's what i got in:

Lone Survivor ... pretty great, pretty awkward to get misty eyed at the end surrounded by people on a plane
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit ... meh
Enemy ... whoa. didn't see this one coming. total mind eff, what is going on? hauntingly suspenseful, really enjoyed this one, makes you think.

started Her... will report back once finished

Caught a few in the past few weeks that I had been putting off...

Thor: The Dark World - Pretty decent.  The weakest franchise in the Marvel universe right now, IMO.  Of course, Cap. America and all of the Iron Man movies have been really great.

Man of Steel - Nice effects, and I really dug the Krypton backstory stuff with Russell Crowe.  But, like all Superman movies since 1 & 2, they've found a way to make Superman the most boring comic book character in the world.

Pacific Rim - Totally glad I ended up getting around to this.  Loved the crap out of it.

Enders Game - Didn't know how I'd feel about it given the sketchy reviews, but I was into it.  Definitely worth a viewing.

The Graduate - Never watched it all of the way through, and my wife and I watched it on Netflix.  I thought it had some great moments, but I'm not sure it's one of the best movies ever made (as has been asserted).

So, yes, I watch a ton of sci-fi/fantasy/comic book stuff.

Can't wait for Guardians of the Galaxy.  Will probably catch that one in the theater.

The Graduate is considered so great because it took a huge step in how soundtracks are used in movies. All the same artist, songs that were written for the movie, etc. But I'm with you, watching it as a stand-alone movie, it doesn't seem that great. I do love the ending though when you kind of see in their eyes that they may have just made a huge mistake and really have no idea what to do now that they've acted completely on impulse.

I thought he was going for Enemy at the Gates, an action flick starring Englishmen/women playing Rooskie's.

Short Term 12

Critically acclaimed indie-type movie.  It has Sutter's ex-gf from Spectacular Now in it.  Also the main young guy from the newsroom.  I really liked it.  Very funny at times and very touching.

She's also Envy Adams in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

That's actually her singing there with Metric playing the music (it's their song called Black Sheep).  Her character was inspired by Metric's irl lead singer:

Wow.  Who knew Sutter's ex-gf had such great pipes?  He got her AND Amy?  I guess I shouldn't be surprised since Sutter is so likable and has such a great heart.  But he's not without his drawbacks though...

"The enemy" with Jake gyllenhal sp* might be the worst movie I've seen since new York minute. And I've seen a lot of movies since then.
