I've been watching Hackman movies, Under Suspicion was the latest.  I'd give it a 7/10.
Runaway Jury is so bad lol. I had no idea there were even hackier versions of Tony Scott out there making movies
The actors bring the juice though

Heretic - 5.5/7 - The performances were incredible, so much tension a la the Inglorious Basterds opening scene. I think it's a decision or two away from being a 7/7. It's a very unique storyline, which is tough to find, especially in the horror/thriller genre.

Costner really delivers in this one. Will Patton p good too. Word to the wise, don't lookup Sean Young, you will regret it.

I watched Runaway Jury this weekend because Netflix thought I needed to see it.   It's completely ridiculous.

can't explain why but John Grisham and the movie adaptations of his books are some of the most pre 9/11 things to ever exist

I watched Groundhog Day last night for the first time in about 20 years. Amazing movie and much better than I remembered. I think I was too young to appreciate it before.

I've seen true lies probably 3-4 times over the years and would have bet my life savings on "no" to the question "is Charlton Heston in true lies?"

I thoroughly enjoyed Heretic. More than I've enjoyed a new movie in some time. As an aside, it would be so easy to adapt it for the stage.

Heretic got a lot of heat out here in Mormonland.  Still on my watchlist.  Stage version could make a nice Barbenheimer style combo if paired with the Book of Mormon musical.

Abruptio is streaming on Tubi or Freevee or one of those if you want to watch an average movie while being made uncomfortable by uncanny valley puppets

I went to the opening night of Panic Fest yesterday.

Halloween 6 - An amazing terrible movie and Paul Rudd's debut. Not quite Troll 2 or The Room bad but it has to be the most awesomely bad Halloween movie.

Hell of a Summer - A fun comedy/slasher from Neon written by Finn Wolfhard.  More comedy than anything and it's just a really fun time.

Freaky Tales - A fun nazi killing flick set in 1987 Oakland and narrated by Too $hort.  Tom Hanks cameo!  It was really fun and almost great, but still really good.

She Loved Blossoms More is an incredible festival flick.  It was arthouse Guillermo Del Toro on hallucinagens.  At no moment did I know where the movie would take me. It is subtitled, so it requires attention, but it is worth the effort.  PEDs recommended.

Moana 2 is hot garbage. Disney has never done a good (animated) sequel. I wonder why? Dreamworks has some great sequels. Toy Story 2-4 might be the exception? Anyway, Moana 2 sucks.
