Kubrick after he got out from under the yoke of old hollywood (and even before that he was clearly better than the rest of old Hollywood)

Denis is pretty close but bladerunner 2 is holding him back a little (imho)

Is there a filmmaker with a better batting average than QT?

What's your least favorite Kubrick? I mean it might be barry lyndon and barry lyndon fn rips

He's such a weirdo, but you cannot deny his childlike wonder when it comes to making movies.

The Hitman was a fun flick.

Weird. Such a variety of takes on this movie.

He doesn't even know the title. Can we trust his opinion?

baffled by its RottenTomatoes rating (96, audience 91). it was perfectly fine and enjoyable, but not elite.

It’s box office Applebees.

Been on a Hitchcock run lately. Knocked off Vertigo, North By Northwest and Rear Window. Vertigo tops by a mile but all three were good. Also watched Mad Max Fury Road for the first time. Pretty enjoyable. Should have had PEDs.

The recent QT discourse inspired me to go watch a flick of his that I haven't seen in a while so I picked Inglourious Basterds this afternoon and yeah it still rules, in his top 2 or 3 for sure duh.  Thinking about watching Deathproof this evening too.

Same. Led to me watching The Hateful Eight last night for the first time. Great movie! I love good Kurt Russell flicks.

He's great in everything. IB is obviously a feature role, but I like Westerns, and I think his role in Django was low-key excellent.

You’ve been on a pretty solid and constant westerns binge for a while now. If you could go back in time and live in any age before your own current lifetime, would it be the post civil war American West?

I think I'd fit in better in post-WWII America. Like, maybe I fought in the war (if I were eligible) and came home to boom some babies. Failing that, Ancient Rome, obvs.
