Finally watched A Quiet Place. Thought it was really good. Except, why not live next to the waterfall?!
That movie was so rough ridin' dumb

Well granted, it requires a certain suspension of disbelief - namely why didn’t they move to the waterfall?

I liked it. Think I may even watch the sequel.

Fun fact about Apocalypse Now! They invented surround sound for it! They didn't know theaters were going to go all in on it, so they initially were going to build a theater in Kansas and air it for a couple years as a big event and hope people traveled to see it.

Huh, basically true.

Quote
Francis Ford Coppola wanted the film to be a special event by having it play in exactly one theater in Kansas in the geographical center of the country. The theater would be built especially for the film with a specially made surround sound system, where the film would run continuously for ten years.

But technically, Apocalypse Now was the first wide release utilizing 5.1 surround sound. Fantasia was the first movie to use an earlier 3-speaker version of surround sound. Leave it to Disney.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Just watched Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Quite good. Although Brad Pitt's performance was great, I think Pesci deserved the Oscar (haven't seen The Two Popes or A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood)

I have (re)watched all of tarintinos movies over the last month.

I really hope someone convinces him to do a 10 episode limited tv series, I would love to see him run wild with backstories and character development.
Reading through this thread to see what people thought about the OUATIH. Tarantino has confirmed that he is writing a TV Series for Bounty Law and that he has already written the first five episodes.

Mission of Honor (2019). Solid WW2 movie about Polish pilots flying for RAF. Nice corona evening viewing.

Frozen 2 - Not very good.  Songs did not slap like Frozen 1.

Jumanji 2 - Not very good.  Jokes didn't work like Jumanji 1.

Ford V. Ferrari - Pretty good.  I liked when they drove fast.

I thought Parasite was good but am not sure how it snuck into the Best Picture category let alone winning it. Maybe because the wealth inequality theme is a hot topic these days?  :dunno:
