Did not watch a single down of the Super Bowl.  Social media keeps telling me it sucked, including the halftime show, and that I am a better person for not wasting 4 hrs of my life.

I really do not enjoy NFL games as sporting events. Watching the Super Bowl is much more of a pop culture thing to me. By that standard, it was just okay. Even more bland and uneventful than usual.

I kept saying during the Chiefs/Patriots game that the NFL really needed the Chiefs to win to set up the future.  Early numbers are showing it was the lowest viewed Super Bowl since 2009 (Steelers vs Cardinals).  People are tired of seeing the Patriots in it, and the officiating controversy two weeks ago turned a lot of people off.

The NFL needs Brady to retire or completely fail if he comes back.

agreed, I don't understand how Adam Levine is a thing. I pretty much get why most SB halftime shows are chosen (even if RHCP was old and kinda boring)

The game was very disappointing because overall, the NFL playoff games were fantastic this year. Eagles/Bears, Seahawks/Cowboys, Eagles/Saints, Chiefs/Patriots, Saints/Rams were all very good games. Sucks that the Super Bowl was such a turd.

Are we pretending St Louis is a great City now)

No, but I am of the belief that pro-sports teams should feel more civic responsibility and commitment to their city than other businesses, and more commitment than they do. Sprint being in KC isn't like the Royals being in KC, there's no civic emotion attached to them. So when teams bail on cities in money grabs (Chargers, Rams, Raiders) I think its very unfair to those towns. Teams should feel that even though their ownership is private, the public "owns" the team too, and I don't like this last round of relocation.

Its somewhat similar to Nebraska and Missouri bailing on the Big XII. Not quite the same but I'll always root against teams that bail on cities/conferences.

I agree.  Have you ever seen this segment from John Oliver?  If not, worth watching.

I agree with this. But teams shouldn't hold cities hostage for stadium deals the way the Raiders, Rams, and Chargers have.

It would be interesting to incorporate a relocation fee where {insert team's owner} has to give {insert team's current city} a certain amount of money if they choose to leave.  I.E. Stan Kroenke would have been required to give $100m to the city of St. Louis for moving the team to LA.  I'm sure this isn't enforceable except through the NFL itself.

When the city bends over to give the team stadium money, they typically have leases with buyout figures in them similar to this.  The NFL would have no interest in anything preventing them from bending the city over though.

The federal government could probably make something happen by threatening their monopoly status.  That could piss off a lot of rich people and loyal fanbases though.
