It’s insane how consistent they are.

For ku this crap hurts them. All the home cooking makes them think they are actually good and then the go play in the tourny and more times then not they can't get the calls they're used to and it costs them.

If we weren’t blue bloods in FB and got so many calls that go our way, I’d be pissed. But as it is, kings recognize kings.

The flip side of the rules of basketball that Naismith plagiarized from Lambert Will have a note in small print that reads: The officials shall pull some call out of their ass to ensure a Kansas win in the event of a close game in conference play.

What are the refs supposed to do? Let Ernest Udeh Jr. exact his sweet revenge just because of the time and situation? I didn't hear the announcers pick up on this, but Udeh transferred from KU to TCU shortly after Hunter Dickinson announced he was transferring to KU (they play the same position). Udeh was waiting for his opportunity to elbow the usurper in the head, and he might have gotten away with it if the refs hadn't made the right call.

Sometimes it's best just to remain silent, because that's just embarrassing either as justification or gE'ing.

That's not a "natural basketball motion," except maybe at the David DePape School of Rebounding.

Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

I'm just glad the ref stepped in before the rest of his dastardly plot could unfold.  Think how many chicken wings he had planned for Bill had they won????

Spracne definitely copied that from the phog so that his buddies at gE could have a laugh. You should be thanking him for the moment of levity.

screaming to everyone that will listen that a call was clear and obvious is usually a solid indicator that the call was complete bullshit

Not sure if the elbow or the blatant push in the back was more egregious.

Hunter Dickinson will single handedly revive the topic of flopping.

Does that also work with a no-call? I'm just thinking about Svi Mahalek (sp?) when he had the gather step, a euro-step, the extra layup step, an adjustment step (in case you are jumping with the wrong leg), a pivot step and the blue-blood courtesy step to make the game winning layup against us that was apparently all legal.

How long will it be until our Coach Tang is able to skillfully manipulate refs in the same manner as Self? I want him to be able to direct the refs like a skilled maestro but I don't want Tang to turn into a ragey, sweaty, red-faced psychopath like Self. Is it possible to do this by simply channeling the Power of Love?

Nice people don't do well in influencing referees.  I'd hate to see Tang become a not-nice person.  Massa Seff's sweaty ragey behavior bought him a ticket to the cardiac ward at KU medical center.

he still doesn’t look right.  i guess all those years of banging waitresses in the keg cooler at louise’s west while loaded up on booger sugar is catching up with him.

Too bad the article on KU cheating isn't more specific:

https://www.heartlandcollegesports.com/2024/01/09/industry-source-to-brett-mcmurphy-kansas-basketball-cheats-more-than-anyone/

I mean literally the only thing the "industry source" does is compare KU's modest sanctions with the modest sanctions of Michigan, both of whom won a national title recently. There's no specifics other than to point out the extremely obvious which is that cheating is easily worth the reward in modern college athletics.

It's sad that ku has such a low opinion of themselves that they feel they can't compete without cheating  :frown:
