Not saying I agree with it, but a former governor serving in a cabinet level position regardless of qualifications specific to that department is fairly common on both sides. And, she actually ran a state government (as opposed to being a TV talking head). So, I'd say she's toward the top with Rubio, Burgum, etc.

It really is irrelevant, though. The current Republican party is agnostic to the truth as a general policy and outright hostile to it when it owns the libs. It therefore doesn't matter whether they actually know what is truthful.

Outside of like athletes and celebrities, who makes $500k a year in salary? I feel like most people who make that much typically have so much going on business wise that with a good accountant they can finagle things to where there reported net income is a lot less.

in 2024, economists and federal budget planners were counting on income over $500k to be taxed at 40% starting in 2025. as of today, pending senate approval, that is not the case.
that is partly what is causing the estimated debt increase with this budget to be around $2.3 trillion over the next 10 years, according to the CBO.
