Mid-tier B12 coaches don't get hired away because OU pantses the conference year after year. It's the same thing that gets Texas coaches fired.
Yeah this is a great point. The best ones all have like one year windows to compete for a title every four years or so.
But like, it's pretty similar in the big 10, Pac 12, and ACC. Mike Leach left but he's kind of a wear out your welcome guy. Taggart was kind of a strange one but again pretty rare.
The SEC seems to hire from within the conference more often for some reason.
