McSally looking good in AZ. Tester looks safe in MT (damn mail in ballot state saved him). So Heller in NV will determine whether this is a +3 or +4 night for GOP in Senate. That’s yuuuuuge.

Dems will take house but blue wave?! Psssshh. A majority just big enough to put the Krazy on full display but not big enough to do anything.

You missed the popular vote thing, it's like a historically big wave!

BUT, FL also just enabled 1.5 million disenfranchised people to vote (~15% of voter population), so we'll see how 2020 and 2022 elections shake out now.

I wouldn’t expect a very high turnout from them.

One thing that limits the electoral impact of restoring ex-felons’ voting rights is that they turn out at particularly low rates. To demonstrate this, we first look to the population of ex-felons who were restored the right to vote under Crist and calculate what share voted in 2016. We find that just 16 percent of black and 12 percent of nonblack ex-felons voted. (We defined nonblack as white, Hispanic, Asian, and other due to data limitations.)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

ok. and?

that's still 200,000 votes in a state where elections are routinely decided by < 50,000.

The potential electoral impact of Florida’s ballot initiative is further limited by the fact that the ex-felons who do vote are not politically uniform. While black voters within this population overwhelmingly register with the Democratic Party (87 percent), nonblack voters within this population were more likely to register as Republicans (40 percent) than as a Democrats (34 percent). The fact that 26 percent of the remaining nonblack voters affiliate with neither party suggests that their votes may not reliably be cast for either party.

I’ve been tuned in to CNN for most of the night because they have the best charts and graphs but boy do they seem whiny about this failed blue wave deal.

I have a certain disappointment that Claire “pro wall” McCaskill’s “I’m not an insane whackadoo Democrat” platform didn’t get her the win.

I probably have little to nothing in common politically with Kelly and I voted for her.  That’s how bad of a candidate Kobach was.

That seems pretty difficult to blame any one person, but yes Democrats have had a pretty terrible record of building and supporting our terrible "criminal justice" system.
