First of all, few things are funnier than #blueanongE talking about their feels in the context of "why should I care" relative to these topics, it's
Edit: Normal, sane - smart people understand that the U.S. is locked in a geo-strategic tug of war with China. If you believe our military-intelligence complex and say (for example) the outgoing director of the FBI, Mr. Ongoing Investigation himself - China is the singular biggest threat to these United States. So, we've got a Chinese spy balloon up there over our country for days, our leadership repeatedly tells us that China is the single biggest threat to our nation and our national security . . . but according to you no one is supposed to care about that balloon?
What can the normal every day American citizen do about something that's orbiting in outer space? Nothing, not a rough ridin' thing. But when that something is hovering 40,000 feet above your house, and you can see it plain as day. That's something entirely different. You're a smart person and you should know that FFS.
I don't agree with this statement. We don't need to be in a militaristic geo-strategic tug of war with China, that is a choice we are making.
Do you believe it is inevitable that we flirt with a war with China and there are not other viable strategies?
Since when do you blindly accept what political or military leaders tell us about things?
You're confused again.
The people are listening to our leadership. Right now that "leadership" is your party. Key apparatchiks of your party are telling us that China is enemy number one. Don't invoke Don Trump, we already know where he stands, but he won't be back for another month.
It's also not a "me" issue, it's a general populace issue. You can't have it every way. You guys melt the eff down whenever vast swaths of the populace to don't acquiesce to your every demand, but now we're back to individual beliefs to fit a narrative? Come on dude.
So again, the general populace is told that China is our biggest Geo-strategic foe. Our proclaimed biggest Geo-strategic foe has a spy platform as plain as day hovering over our nation for days on end. But no one is to be concerned about that cus on an individual level you're not supposed to believe the military-intelligence-federal law enforcement complex (until we say you need to believe them depending on the political situation at hand)?
