i don't know what ridiculous reasons they gave, but i almost certainly disagree with them now and would have ten years ago as well.

don't know if it is confirmed that this is the rationale but a general stance against asset seizure without due process would make sense. If it's because they love Russia like MTG that would be more of a problem but we all know that's not what's happening

This is kinda funny because I made the same argument weeks ago. If we’re going to continue with civil asset forfeiture as it exists today, it makes no sense not to use it here.

By the same token, I’m like 99% sure that those opposing the Russian sanctions have zero intention of reforming current civil asset forfeiture laws.

We should probably focus more on ourselves right now, with record inflation going on and the worst presidency oat. Instead of spending people's tax dollars on a war that we have zero to do with.

Should be priced in.  We give money, aid, weapons to countries all the time in the name of diplomacy.  Which, imo, is part of defense.  It seems to be a savings even.  Someone else is fighting the war we are constantly preparing for.  We should get a labor deduct on this change order.
