I caught up on this episode last night.  Burr's monologue was good.  Jack White melted my face off.  I've never seen anyone set up their drums like that??

I don't remember a single word, and I thought he and his band kicked ass. He's not the typical artist you see on SNL, so I gotta give them (SNL) props. However, I'm told that he was a last-minute replacement act, so I'm also going to take away half of those props.

Like, I thought they were very good at what they did (kicked ass?), I just thought the songs were boring. I saw Jack with the Raconteurs once and thought he was amazing.

The best SNL musical performance was Kanye, Chance, and company doing Ultralight Beam

meant to watch the episode after the debates although the presidential debate was basically an SNL skit. How was it though?

I haven't found any of their political stuff funny in a long time and this was no exception.  The lone bright spot, imo, was getting to see Jim Carrey play an over the top caricature.

Can absolutely confirm that Jack White was incredible, songs weren't boring (who TF was listening to the lyrics?), faces were melted, and his drummer sets up his drums extremely weird. Have NEVER seen that.

I must say after two eps I am not into Jim Carrey as Joe Biden. It's just missing the mark for me, but that's fine. I did appreciate that the cold open got weeeeeird with it this week, but I still didn't find myself LOLing that much. I'm not some cyclistcat who always insists SNL's not as good as it was back in my day. But I think this show and this cast need some time to get fleshed out and get back into its groove. I'm confident it will. Haven't laughed much at all in the first two eps, but maybe that's just me.

We're a bunch of year in now; where have we landed on Che and Jost as Update hosts? I was fully not on board at first because it didn't feel like they had a ton of chemistry, but I think I've grown to really appreciate them. Not my faves of all-time or anything though.

Gonna be good this week with Dave Chapelle as host and Foo Fighters as the musical guest!

They cut the musical guests I think, so every episode is like 17 minutes.  Very bingeable.

I haven't watched last night's but I'm getting to the age where not much of it is funny. The Trump and Biden stuff is awful and I hate everything Beck Bennett and Mikey Day are in and they're in like everything.
