Now that it is just 2 the contrast are going to be pretty stark and he won’t be able to hide in a big pack.

KK, he's wall street's pick and the DNC.  Bernie's only way to win the primary us for Biden to have a stroke/heart attack  before the convention.  Right now they don't give a crap if Biden can't remember his own name, due to the idea of Sanders helping a class of people that support this country.

If Biden dies I don’t think Bernie wins. Nor should he.

He really lucked out on not having to debate a thin field before Super Tuesday. Not that it would have mattered much

everyone was talking about only three days between south carolina and super tuesday as a disadvantage, because he wouldn't have time to fundraise and advertise or really even campaign on the victory, but it was really the perfect amount of time.  just long enough for everyone to hear and process the news and coordinate consolidation but not enough time for voters to really have any second thoughts or the media to start up any sort of a backlash to the story.

The media was all over Biden's nuts on Supper Tuesday.  The only negative talk was about Bernie.  SD is right, they can't stand a socialist.

it's kind of a just so story, but it's tempting to look at the timeline of the election as basically the electorate telling itself it didn't really care who the nominee is, vote blue no matter who for twelve months, interrupted on two occasions:  in october when warren crested and after nevada when sanders looked emergent.  at which points the electorate was like, ah no, eff this.

Yeah I agree. Plus no debates before the 10th means he can pretty much ride that wave and play it safe this week.

A debate at this point is mostly an opportunity for Bernie to alienate more Democrats.

I agree but it may have been a slight risk if it was just Bernie and Joe.

Biden doing something crazy or offensive like dropping a hard R. Better chance with a smaller crowd

Debates are useless. It's not just a 2020 thing. Even in 2016 Trump never won a debate and it didnt matter. With the amount of digital advertising they'll just do spliced up scenes and call it a day saying they won.

I think the bigger thing about the 2020 race is if Coronavirus put the Dow Jones/S&P 500 below 18K, it's reasonable to think Trump would cancel the elections "for public safety" and to be rescheduled at a future time....the Senate GOP would be in danger of losing control and go along with it...the SCOTUS realizing Trump would get another 2-3 Judges probably in a year or two
...would say it's constitutional. Election would be scheduled of course after so long of a time...that Trump gets to choose

It's incredibly frustrating for me to see people saying that Trump isn't really all that different from other candidates because, when you read about people who lived in countries taken over by dictators, they're like, "we didn't think it could happen here," "we thought someone would stop it," etc. And Trump has VERY MUCH moved in that direction the entire time he's been in office. He VERY MUCH has that dictator psychology. He's shown again and again that he's willing to break any norm.

Dax not wanting him to run again is starting to become more clear. He just wants him to not leave office, and not HAVE to run because he is supreme leader for life.

I love the idea that Republicans will actually want to stop him at some point. I also think it's an incredibly naive idea.

LOL, the rage from Resident Useful Idiot Nation over the fact their party is going to nominate a mega corrupt racist war monger former VPOTUS from an administration that was an abject failure on the world stage while bombing, refugee’ing and deporting millions upon millions of people.

Is as they say:  Palpable

Quote
“People are prideful of being racist again,” said Bobby Caradine, 47, who is black and has lived in Memphis all his life. “It’s right back out in the open.”

In Tennessee and Alabama, in Arkansas and Oklahoma and Mississippi, Democrats, black and white, told me they were united by a single, urgent goal: defeating Mr. Trump this November, with any candidate, and at any cost.

“There’s three things I want to happen,” Angela Watson, a 60-year-old black Democrat from Oklahoma City, told me at a campaign event there this week. “One, beat Trump. Two, beat Trump. And three, beat Trump.”

Those quotes are absurd. The entire premise of supporting a candidate is beating Trump. The irony is Biden is an incredibly weak candidate and that this makes it difficult to fulfill the entire purpose of his campaign.
