i was going to vote for warren, because of how she's charming as hell and also policies.  but then i checked on twitter and found out that the media hates her and america is biased against women.  so now i'm going to vote for an underqualified man undeservedly glorified by the media because i don't want to lose the general election.

I literally died

This poll says to me that the majority of the electorate hasn't really started paying attention to this election yet. Thots?

I'd 100% vote for Millennial Pete before I voted for a Baby Boomer, but never before Beto.

Thots?

nothing you can't get thought at you by a thousand voices on twitter.  biden and sanders are weak front runners.  buttigieg's rise is real.  last week's polls looked like buttigieg had taken support from harris.  this week's polls make it look more like it has come from beto.  either or neither could be true.  all variation (other than buttigieg's rise) is within margin of error.

oh, on the majority of the electorate - i don't want to look for the tweet that said it, but i saw poll this morning that said that like 84% of the electorate was undecided in march and now it's 77% (77% i recall for sure, 84% is in the ballpark).  the 23% includes definitely decided and people with a favorite but still open.

OC from my progressive politician friend!

Quote
The more Mayor Pete talks about real issues instead of his personal story, the more he shows himself to be just an unprepared mayor of a small town in Indiana.

California has 70 cities with more than 100,000 people (the population of South Bend) and you don't see the mayors of Elk Grove, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana or Oxnard (all much bigger than South Bend) suddenly running for President.

You think small town Mayor Pete would get this far if he was a woman?

Let's not forget that even though Mayor Pete is gay, he's also a white Ivy League educated male.

Meanwhile Senator (not small town mayor) Elizabeth Warren is coming up with smart, realistic and progressive policy platforms every day that would solve real problems in our society and the media pays no attention to her.

:excited:

why would the mayors of all cities over 100k suddenly run for president?

He needs to know his place and first run for >100k mayor, then the various steps after. Our Liz has spent an absolute shitload of time doing all those steps.

And then he'll be 70 by the time he runs for president and the preferred age of Democratic candidates.

Mayor Pete is gaining popularity because he’s young and a good talker who comes off as very genuine. I’m sure a lot of people assume Bernie was popular because he promised free college and healthcare, but I think a lot of people were actually more like myself and liked him just because it was clear he sincerely believed in the issues he addressed and wasn’t trying to appease the masses or major lobbies.

She has aged well I’ll give her that, I thought she was early 60’s.

I agree she looks good for a 69 year old woman but she will 71 at the time she takes office.

also, i haven't spent much time on it, but my initial impression of sanders photos from this spring is that he got himself botoxed.

holy smokes, didn't realize she was that old. "clean livin' liz" is what I'd call her if I was trump but just thought up fun and mildy mysoginistic names for my competition instead of gross/stupid ones.

Pete gained support organically and has only recently been getting any press. Tulsi and Liz should try that first part
