There's been a lot of Mayor Pete hate lately

just the normal background noise level of hate, imo.

Pete was the candidate that came out of the "what to do about Bernie?" meetings with Nancy, Chuck, Neera Tanden and some big democratic donor.

He is the Terminator sent to destroy Bernie.  I think he'll be even less successful than Arnold, but let's not be coy about his mission.

I actually thought Warren did a pretty good job. She's probably the most credible regarding substantive policy. But, promising student loan forgiveness seems like a cheap tactic. Maybe I'd feel differently, if it would allegedly apply to me.

She's very good. I mean, she would destroy Trump

open evidence of trump flagrantly being very criminal hasn't destroyed trump, so i doubt if any of the democratic candidates are going to do it.

This is not fair, but another reason I am very uneasy about Pete is he has an extremely John Currie energy.

Why are the knives out re: Pete? Did his star burn too brightly too quickly?

Why do the Dems eat their own? Sorry if I'm skeptical given the last presidential primary experience.

I mean I think this is normal progression for a candidate? Like, he did well in a general sense and then people want to get a better idea of what he stands for in more detail. And then it's normal to react to that next step.

He got 50 minutes of critical questions and then the final 10 minutes were softballs. Everyone else got at least 30-40 minutes of applause questions.

I was referring to Twitter/media backlash, not the town hall. But I might watch it sometime.

no idea if this is an accurate recounting, but if it is, that is to buttigieg's advantage.  no one is impressed by a candidate answering a layup question.

It’s mostly scared Bernie bros, and their candidate isn’t even a democrat.

Nothing but an opportunist trying to take advantage of the Democratic Party infrastructure. The Dem elites are right to to take him down now, and were right to do it in 2016.

He couldn’t even pretend to be a democrat outside of the presidential election cycle

lots of Warren fans upset with the amount of attention he was getting without any detailed policy proposals when that is one of her strengths.

Well, incessantly crying about it and claiming the fix is in are certainly two options they have. Shitty ones for sure, but both are available.
