the Europeans have a similar definition of populism to sys which seems to be “bad stuff I don’t like.”

it's funny you used that phrase as it was exactly my reaction to the frank excerpt you posted - he seems to be making the argument that true populism is only the stuff he likes and not at all the stuff he doesn't.

i wish him luck with the rebranding, but if i had any advice, it'd be to worry more about convincing the people to like the stuff he likes, as right populism appears broadly ascendant, while left populism, sanders aside, retreats.

well I will read his book and it will probably flesh out this argument more, but I think just pointing out what the term actually means is useful.

Good to know CNN also has that Clinton-Steele 3x delete button.

good grief she is thirsty for vp

Shameful. It's amazing how many politicians are shamefully ambitious sellouts. They have no conviction about anything other than advancing their political careers. This woman was a progressive like 4 months ago.

Because I'm bored...would you want Elizabeth Warren to be VP, in the executive branch, initially I was thinking she could have a large input in filling positions in executive agencies. Guess she could also do that in the Senate or in coordination initially (during the primary).

Also what if young voter turnout rose, relative to the last primary, in the remaining states, what would the story line be?

Liz as VP for Joe Biden is about what she deserves.

I have a hard time believing Biden will be able to finish a 4 year term.

I really want to hop on the "he won't be the nominee" train, but I just don't see any realistic way that happens

he could die.

it is a pretty short time horizon and at this point his rotten brain clearly isn't going to keep him from it.

it also doesn't make much sense to me that the tara reade accusation (or some other thing) would get fully deployed now in the middle of the pandemic when Joe is basically irrelevant, as opposed to once he is the nominee.

I get the fact that my unpopular views on things have me labeled here as the “crazy guy”, however I’m really having a hard time seeing how any party could put Biden on their ticket as the nominee.  Just makes zero sense.  I mean is he REALLY the highest quality candidate in the entire Democratic Party?!?!  Something is fishy about it.

Either they believe they can rig and steal the election with a “weekend at Bernie’s” candidate, or their planning a late term switcharoo so that the pubs don’t have as much time to form a good smear campaign against their real candidate.

The Democrats pulling off something this well coordinated or strategic is way crazier to believe than them putting up a shitty candidate.

I respectfully disagree KK. [They]’ve been managing to pull off something far more strategic and well coordinated for decades, although the plot may be more bi-partisan than most would consider.

i know this goes against everything you believe in, bookie, but biden will be the nominee because the people chose him in elections that were largely free, fair and transparent.

he certainly wasn't my candidate and i think he's much too old for the job, but i've come to believe the electorate probably did a pretty good job of selecting the best candidate to win the general election.

Initially, yes, I wanted that. However, with Whitmer, Harris, and Abrams sacrificing principles and bending at the knee of Uncle Joe, I don't want that for Warren at the expense of changing who she's been. I'm a Warren supporter because, she has the absolute best record of social justice, it'd be a shame to throw that away.

This isn't to say that I think Biden did it, but to give him the benefit of the doubt when they didn't/don't for Trump, Cavanaugh, et al is transparent as eff and shameful.

I also think the odds of Biden making it to November, winning, then making it to 2024, remote.

Hell of a take from a trump supporter. Sys is right he's the choice of the people from the choices they were given, the vocal component of democrats that have a problem with it, need to deal. The same way republicans had to accept a pro choice reality show star with three wives, seven bankruptcies, and a video admitting to sexual assault.

I think Trump has a history of payments/tabloid story spiking that give his accusations more credence than Joe's but agree that they seem very similar to Kavanaugh's accusations.  I can justify voting for Biden and being against Kavanaugh because Trump could've just nominated another judge where I feel like voting for Biden will be the best option I have.  I totally understand if other people can't though.

The "is Biden the best you could do" take is pretty bad.  Both parties have been nominating pretty flawed candidates for a long ass time.

MIR just jacking moonshots left and right today.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Let's not let the old man get us off topic here. Biden and the DNC has painted the entire party in a hell of a corner.
