How was the first hour of the debate?
It was terrible, hours two and three were much better.
Yang- his supporters will cry about how he got less time than everyone else again but he doesn't utilize what he has and doesn't insist on rebutting like the others do.
Steyer- grats on the impeachment, it's a travesty he was on that stage instead of Booker, he offered literally nothing
Mayo- like the other two before him, he melted as the target, had a horrendous night. He comes off as very insincere.
Klo- damn, her best night of the campaign. She clearly doesn't like Mayo, seemed almost personal. She'll get noted for taking him out but I thought she was solid all around on policy. She's a moderate that sounded progressive.
Biden- he is what he is, I can see why some think he's relatable, he's old man folksy, but he doesn't relate to me at all. Sarah Sanders saved his ass, she made fun of him stuttering when he was telling a story about a kid who stutters, and everyone went nuts on her. The problem is, he wasn't stuttering himself when telling the story, he was mimicking the speech pattern of the kid in the story. He's so kringy.
Bernie- he's consistent, pretty much the same performance. His noteworthy moment came because of a moderator error. I don't remember the woman's name but there were a series of questions about the environment that pretty much everyone got to answer but Bernie. The moderator then asked him a question about race. He started to discuss environmental racism and the moderator cut him off, stating that his answer was not about race. He finished his answer anyway. This same moderator had a moment with Biden later when she pronounced Afghanistan differently than we hear and he didn't understand her so she had to repeat it. Some dip crap at the Huffington Post tried to say that Biden challenged her, he definitely did not.
Warren- similar to Bernie that she's pretty consistent with her message and delivery. She popped mayo about having a $5000/person fundraiser in a wine cave. She definitely won the exchange, the moderators let it go for too long, Klo actually was the one to stop it, only to then body Pete herself. As discussed I will caucus for Warren, and I'm a donor, but she doesn't inspire me. Probably because I'm old but she just doesn't move me at all. She's smart, and quick thinking but I just don't hang on her every word.
All in all this debate was a disappointment given the relatively small number of candidates on stage. I thought the moderators stunk.
