This was my question. Many are jumping to the conclusion that Schultz would take more votes from the Democratic candidate than from Trump. That doesn't seem obvious to me.

This is the first time I've actually felt targeted by a politician.

He sold the Supersonics to people that wanted to move out of town or something like that.

it's not that people are sure that schultz (who spells his name wrong) would take more voters from the democratic candidate, it's that he would introduce more uncertainty.  right now in a 1 on 1 race, trump loses.  a three-way race is less certain.

Schultz believes that Trump will get reelected if the Dems nominate a far-light candidate, and he's concerned they'll do so.

I'm with Spracne, fiscal conservatism and social libratarianism speaks to me.  I could be swayed under the right conditions especially if I thought he would be treated with respect by both fringes.

Schultz offers this country an opportunity for absolution in a way no other candidate does.

his solution to those concerns suggests that he's either stupid or that he has other concerns that outweigh his concern for trump's reelection.

I'm leery about "outsiders" in the WH.  Historically they either seem easy to take advantage of or just suck at dealing with other politicians.

Sadly, I don't give one single crap what you think, because you've proven to be blinded by your own biases.

fiscal conservatism and social libratarianism speaks to me.

trump campaigned on the exact opposite quadrant from fiscal conservatism and social libertarianism, and you latched onto him very early in the process.  voters are weird.

Trump campaigned on fiscally conservative policy all over the yard, and he transparently doesn't give an eff about much else, obviously he gives the appropriate amount of lip service to the social issues.
