Best Blackberry? Have to replace iPhone
« on: May 19, 2010, 04:10:20 PM »
Company I'm going to start working for will only pay for our phone bill if we have a BlackBerry, so I've got to make a switch by October-ish (after training is over with).

What's the best one? Really am going to miss my iPhone besides its deteriorating battery life after a year and a half.

My Curve sucks. But BrickBreaker is the best game this world has ever seen.
When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.

Definitely get the Curve. Do not even consider the Storm or the Pearl ((I'm too stupid to find a better word than gay)).

OMG so do I.  there is a newer tour though- it's got wifi and a optical pad instead of the roller ball.  sprint has it, it's now called the Bold 9650.

also Tour owners, if you haven't d/l'd BB 5.0 be sure to.

The optical pad sounds interesting. The ball gets stuck on my curve, and I don't like touch screens.

ya they don't have any more track balls on any phones.  RIM is a pretty strong 6 Sigma shop.

I've used the trackpad on one of the new Curves and it works much better than the ball. QFT on touch screens.

Haven't ever held a Tour, but the Pearl is better than all other models due to it's compact size.

the pearl sucks due to its compact size.  unless you're a Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) who likes 2 letters per key.

I've dropped my phone so many times and have never had anything go wrong with it. I can't imagine what you could have done to yours to break it.

Have you ever done anything more than hold the phones? The Pearl is absolutely awful.

Love my Storm 2. Give that a try...
Touch screens FTL. Read some reviews on the Storm and you'll quickly decide against it.

liked my storm1 before it fell into a 32 oz cup of H20.  friend got the storm2 and the touch screen was 100x better than the storm1

stupid of you don't go for storm2 or the tour with the optical pad

i'm there with you.  the thing (which represents the phone and thus work) will take over your life.

No mine has no utility for me whatsoever.   Due to a merger, the new Enterprise IT won't support BB's/RIM servers . . . so unless I want to buy a $45 dollar 3rd party software app my BB is pretty much useless.   Because I am an elite customer with my provider, I can upgrade every year, and I plan on dumping this POS BB in very short order.

ya BB Enterprise server is pretty expensive.  there are ways around that but why mess with it when so many other exchange solutions are out there now.

not really, i do like the functionality of mine, it works great.  the problem is it works too great- i use it all the time and it's so connected to my work through its email and calendar functionality that even when i'm at home BBS'n, i am reading and writing work emails.
