Which point is the weird one, that they are clowns for claiming a national title they didn't win or that they didn't even play an 11 game regular season? What they accomplished is fantastic, I think odds of them beating two more good P5 programs isn't great.

they did in fact play an 11 game reg season. memphis game was rescheduled from 9/8 to 9/30 due to hurricane irma.
then they played memphis again in the aac title game, then the peach bowl = 13-0

Well they did play 11 reg season games. canceled games were Maine and Georgia tech. Maine had zero shot, gt perhaps would.

i think mir meant that they did not play a full 12 game reg season. the ga tech game was canceled (also due to irma) but not rescheduled.
just about every other team that played a conf champ game + bowl game played 14 games

Correct, the actual national champion will have either played a 14 or 15 game season. The committee certainly screwed them with their ranking but they weren't top 4.

It's hilarious how some of you are suddenly okay with Helms titles and whatever in the hell Oklahoma State football did with their retroactive championship.

Well, Oklahoma State's bogus national championship is bogus because Army was undefeated and unquestionably played a ridiculous schedule. This article by Trammel (i know I know) does a pretty good job laying it out:

UCF was the only undefeated team in the country and beat one of the best teams in the Country along the way. They have a much better argument that Oklahoma State imo. And regardless, if Oklahoma State gets to claim a national title, why shouldn't UCF?

Most of the blue bloods in college football claim bogus national titles. I don't think this championship by UCF is legitimate, but it's worthy of hanging on the side of their stadium.

They're having a championship parade and hanging a banner on the stadium. I heard their AD on the Lebatard Show, they're quite serious about it.

I'd assume that's fairly standard. I'd love to see what that bonus looks like compared to what that staffs national championship bonus looks like at Nebraska.
