What are other Cat fans first impressions of the team after last night? My thoughts (fwiw): Cam Carter looks better than last year. Kaluma, Ames, McNair and Colbert seem to be good at basketball, also. If feeling very positive about the prospects for this season.

We are very athletic.

Our bigs’ need to get much better at off ball D in the paint.

We are deep at guard. Especially if RJ and Dai Dai don’t hit a frosh wall.

Kaluma is amazing. He has great vision for a larger guy. He is going to be getting a lot of stats.

Colbert looks like he still needs the game to slow down a bit but is promising.

Cam is pretty great.

N’Guessan looked really good too.

If we get Tomlin back and get him and Kaluma on the court at the same time, we might be unstoppable.

They said on the broadcast the team would be running less planned offensive sets, so agree with wetwillie this team is going to get up and down the court a ton.

From little we have seen, the team seems more balanced.  I love that as we aren't necessarily focused on two specific guys putting up double figures to get us a W.  I think it makes guys like Perry and RJ deadly from the outside.  I also love that the big guys aren't afraid to pull up.  Cam Carter looks first team all Big 12.

I'm just super excited for Cats basketball.

It seemed clear since the end of last season the Tang was trying to make Cam the guy. Looks like it's paying off. I wonder how much of a vocal leader he is, though. Or if he is asked to be.

Our freshmen are absolutely adorbs.

My guy RJ is the best  adorable
Buddy Rich is a doughy stud, our own baby Barkley

I really didn't take anything sustainable from the game other than we want to run. We have no idea what the rotation is going to look like.

I was hoping to see more Taj last night.  He started in Tomlin's place, but then didn't really get to play much at all the first half.

When he came in the second half, he looked athletic, smooth, and up to speed of the game.   :dunno:

It seemed like he did some good things last night. Wasn't the staff really high on what he was doing during practice last year or am I mis-remembering?

We'll have some really fun games with dunks and 3's.

And we'll have some really not fun games because defense will be a big learning curve.

I only got to watch the second half of the game but I appreciated all of the monster dudes dunk play. I hope we continue running those all season long.

I thought our bigs looked like an enormous improvement over last year though.

Yeah but we're still learning if the staff tells the truth about that stuff or just likes to blow smoke
