I question the traceable part of that article unless there is some way to identify who owns certain addresses and how the individuals access their wallets/addresses.

For sure. Normally they are caught when they off ramp to an exchange I would guess. I was more pointing this out regarding the issue with bitcoin petering out due to lack of use. Seems its kind of a lose lose situation potentially. No-one is using it so its essentially idle and worth nothing or they change it and make it like other coins so it loses its originality.

Coinbase will always be. It’s regulated by the USA. I mean, it may not always be a going concern but the deposits, etc. will always be there.
