Need more advice for dumb dumbs like me.

So I guess there's this airdrop thingy for XRP to get some new Spark coins or whatever and that sounds nice I guess except supposedly no snapshot of Coinbase (where I have my XRP) will be done so like no fun free Spark coins for me. Unless I move it. But how do I move it and to where. Talk to me like I'm 3, I deserve it.

Coinbase is going to honor the snapshot now, they capitulated a few days ago.  Kraken is probably a better option but the snapshot is in 48 hours or so, and you may get screwed over if you try to transfer it over on such short notice. Spark will likely be available on exchanges initially for .01 or so price range so if you want more it’s going to likely be super cheap to buy anyway.

If you have a substantial amount of crypto, whatever you deem substantial to be, I'd invest in a hardware device and offload from exchanges.  I have the nano ledger X.

I don't have a lot in crypto, I put most of my money in tangible investments. I've self educated myself in that sector so I know what I'm doing. Crypto? Not so much. All that said, I asked for a crypto wallet for Christmas!  :crossfingers:

Cool, thanks. Didn't know I could leave it in Coinbase.

What do you anticipate happens to BTC when US Govt gives more clarity to regulations in January? I think many institutions have already jumped into the water a bit but it feels like it could open the flood gates and really get weird.

Heads up for you crypto investors.

Not really sure what the heads up / trap is? It's a yes or no question. Answer no when you do hold crypto is obviously lying on your taxes.

They moved the box. Everybody has to answer the question. They're chasing the gains.

Is no secret, but obviously the government will fight tooth and nail if their issued currencies start losing popularity.

Why is that described as a trap?

I agree that they won’t let their fiat currency go away but I think the taxes part is just government seeing opportunity for revenue not punitive.

It's just a change to me. The tweeter thinks it's a trap. Maybe ask her.

Probably right. In a way, they are almost legitimizing crypto of they tax the gains because they are acknowledging it as currency and not an asset. As an example, they don't tax you on gold you may own if the price escalates (to my knowledge anyway). They would tax you on gains once you convert to cash (again, from what I've been told, I'm not a tax expert).

You said heads up which made me think you agreed it was a trap. I just wanted to see if someone had more info than I was understanding was happening.

I don't think BTC gives a eff. Nothing is stopping this freight train.

What will we close at today (let's call closing @ 10PM CST)? My prediction is $22K or $19K.
