I use the “Screen Time” feature on my kids’ iPhones.  You can set up downtime, block access to specific apps/webpages, set time limits for specific apps, etc.  It doesn’t let you snoop, just sets limits.  Basically, if they want to get a new app or go to some webpage, they have to ask. Or if they’ve hit their allotted time for Madden, they have to ask for more.  IMO, it works well for young kids that don’t need/want social media yet.  With my oldest, I want to start backing off those limits and allowing social but not sure how to keep tabs on it.

Ok, bump.  What s best app to snoop on a kids phone?  It is an iphone

also, is there one that I can just hit a switch that would shut the phone down like if she is not doing homework in room but on a 700 person facetime sesh?  and then turn it on when the kid goes to volleyball practice so we know when to pick up?

Yes, the screen time app is great.  We allow 1.5 hours of screen time a day, then the phone shuts down except for talk and text, and they can text only us at that point.  Also like tdaver said you can block apps, websites, calls, or texts. Also we have it set so that our kids' phone automatically goes into Downtime at 9:30pm and doesn't leave Downtime until 7am.  And yes, you can remotely enter your kids phone into Downtime whenever you want if you think they are doing something they shouldn't be.  Our kids are 11, 12, and 13 and we have their phones locked down pretty tight just with the built in Screen Time app.

For sure.  Although we adopted the 12 year old when he was 8 so not quite as fun as it seems.

Sucks ass, but your whole family will basically be bulletproof in like 3 months.

also been pretty funny to see lil tiny baby 'blast at the end of each day with zero sleep or naps. complete zombie status, just glazed over eyes, hair a complete mess, looks like she's been partying all day. hilarious. i'm told the naps get better but right now she's too excited to sleep, ever.

Not all kids nap daily.  Due to their superior genes none of the stone clan was much for napping.  They were out getting better while other kids napped

The Apple parental controls does all of this. My wife used to use familsafe but it's not great. Unfortunately this is all on my wife to work the controls because I'm the only one of us that's not on an iphone. She says a lot of her friends use something called bark.

I can not overstate how blessed I am that lil girl sd is a kg/1st grader during peak bluey. It’s the most pure media that has ever been created.

Bluey is the third best children's show of all time.

We're going to Bluey live in December.

I have 8 & 5. The 8 year old is nothing but attitude already. I think they both get their sustenance from watching the other suffer.

I do enjoy a lot of the advice from this website. They send out an email M-F that is usually a quick under 5 minute read with good reminders/tips.
