I'm going to gamble that this advice is going to be totally slammed by you youngsters but, DO NOT teach your kids sign language in lieu of letting them learn to speak normally. Somewhere in the early millennial round of parents, someone got the cockamamie idea that kids grow up better if they don't have to be frustrated learning how to speak. Frustration is also known as facing an obstacle and learning to overcome it. It's part of life.

You can thank me later after you save money on speech therapists.
How is this helping a person who wants to be a minimalist with his kids? Are you suggesting that his kid doesn't need hands?

Do you teach your kids to walk by giving them crutches?

My kids didn't learn it, bit the idea with sign language is that kids are able to learn to sign before they can learn to speak. It's about communication and absolutely nothing to do with frustration.

My kids learned "more Cheerios" and they could do that by 5 months or so.

Baby food? What a racket. Your grandparents were feeding your mom and dad adult food at 1 month of age. Don't waste shelf space with jars and jars of baby food.

Baby bath tub? Good grief. Clean the dishes out of the kitchen sink. That spray gun was developed for baby baths.

Just try and declutter often. Donate things you don't use, and don't waste your time trying to have garage sales. You'll give up a weekend for a $75 profit. Bless others by donating. Inform grandparents you want to avoid excessive toy clutter, and make it clear what type of gifts would be best for you and your family.

If you personally are a fairly well organized, decluttered person, it will translate in how you parent. You'll do great.

Tell the grandparents to invest in a 529 college savings plan instead of buying toys  (or toes).

is that all you were wanting? That was easy.

Congratulations on the baby. Just being aware that your life is going to change and putting some thought into that is a good sign that you will be a good parent.
