What if you had money to do that in 20's?

:ck: Probably would've been pretty great.

I don't want to take trips without my kids. I've done it a number of times and it's not as much fun.

Do what you want.

I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy having my kids out of the house by the time I'm 45. I enjoyed having younger kids when I was younger and by my late 30s never having to worry about a babysitter if I want to go out with my wife.

If you enjoyed some of the stuff sans kids in your 20s that's cool. I still enjoyed my 20s regardless.

I guess if it's a race to get those monsters out of the house the 22 year old parents win

I'm not in a race, just a benefit of the decision I made with my wife. I'm glad you are enjoying your decision.

If there is one thing Adam Sandler's award winning epic "Click" has taught us it's that it is not a race.  Cherish every moment.

Depends on how involved your kids are in stuff like sports or other extra stuff and how involved you want to be on such things. Since you have no clue about that before they are born, just start and tap out when it feels like enough is enough.  If my second was a easier baby, we would have had three.  Glad we didn't, now that they are older. We have a practice or game ever night of the week approx six months of the year.  Throw in work and working out, and I can't imagine keeping up with a third.

i've had thoughts about getting myself a foreign exchange student. would have to be a highschool aged girl though and would have her babysit a bunch and also do dishes/laundry/etc.

Girl from Italy. It was not our original plan, but the first family she was with was bad. They asked around for people who would be willing to do it and my wife and I decided to. It's been fun.
