Even though I had predicted almost everything it was still a very intense ending. I was really fearful for Celeste's life when they were in the car.

Note to self: When leaving husband, get a secret burner phone to take property manager phone calls.

I echo this. It was the best series finale I've ever seen. It was very well done. I don't ever think about artistic impression when watching TV or film but I did there

I'm also going to watch the entire series again with my wife. I watched the finale on HBOgo and apparently they have very brief directors commentary after each episode.

Perfect. Disappointed Jane won't be in the next season. Unless I misread.

Jane won't be in the next season because there isn't a next season.

That should be good. The book was pretty good.

ending for me was terrible.  what crime was committed?  you have all the most important people in town killing a wife beater and these cops actually think he'd get a DA to take a swing a charging any of them?  just awful way to fizzle out not only the episode, but also the series.

I think it tied it all up in a nice bow. I loved the interview teasers throughout. I could have done without the detective commentary and just some silent shots of the women being interviewed. But meh. I think it was a nice bow to tie it all up.

It was a half windsor when the series deserved a proper bow tie or at least a full windsor.

I agree that I didn't understand the cover up. He was kicking the crap out of a couple of women and another woman pushed him away and he happened to go down a flight of stairs.  Why not just tell the cops that?

I read that in the book, Bonnie is a victim of domestic violence and confronts Perry a bit more before the shove.  Makes it more of an intentional act and less of a defense act, thus the cover up.  Show doesn't really convey that at all.
