oscar gets term'd, and then after some reflection, hired back to replace himself.

Only Archie Miller:

He must be an amazing coach. I just went through their last 5 recruiting classes. Only two 4 Stars and the rest are 3 or unranked.

I love him, but i'm pretty sure he's going back to his alumni this year.

The problem with that, is that NC State people have this insane zeal that they have to beat Duke and UNC all the time.  The ran off a pretty good coach because he didn't beat UNC or Duke enough, but he won games in the NCAA tourney.

The only thing I want out of our coach is to beat KU at home fairly regularly but overall be one of the top teams in the Big 12 (The Big 12 is overrated and not the ACC) and win games in the NCAA tourney with a regularity.

No. His last quote that I read stated he was grateful for NCSU but life happens and you form your own way and that's where he is.

I could care less about beating KU. I want rankings, being in the running for confys, and runs in the tourney. KU wins will help, but it doesn't move the needle for me more than any other win.

This would be a good job for oscar.  Warm weather to semi retire.  No expectations.  He does run a clean program.  He likes to recruit Florida.  Good lawnmowing.

Agreed. Frank's tenure set the bar at where our program should be.

Ben Jacobson
Ben Howland  In his 10 years with the Bruins, he had a .685 winning percentage, went to three consecutive Final Fours, and won four Pac-12 conference titles.

Why not Lon?

Gregg Marshall has earned his opportunity to coach in a power 5 conference and I think oscar could do well for a few seasons down in Wichita. Sometimes stars just align. :Carl:
Marshall is super unlikeable tho. No thanks.

Not so fast, but this helped him immensely.

We'll see what he can do against Brad.

I wouldn't say he helped himself immensely, he held serve, UT is awful.

He's two wins away from an NCAAT birth now. I 100% would say he helped himself immensely.

I agree that the win wasn't a clincher, but withstanding a loss that would have been devastating for him counts for something.

Would Currie replace oscar with another oscar (that he helped hired before)?

Just a random thought I had today. They have the connection and oscar has seemed to keep his nose clean at his new gig. It seems the lateral move to a "better" situation is more common, maybe that's the route both oscar and Currie will go.

If not Pearl, maybe a guy like Pitino (Jr) or Fox even?

Its not out of the realm of possibility. If a change is made, I'd say that is more likely than the young up and comer approach.

Forbes.

He was one of Pearl's assistants at Tennessee too. His background with Gillispie, Pearl, and Marshall (plus JUCOs) is an interesting mix.
