Menards is great for certain things, mainly when you don't GAF about quality.

Plus their commercials make me feel nostalgic.

Menards is weird. Oh sure, I need to pick up some shampoo and what's this? Paint in the adjacent aisle? Excellent. On the way out I'll swing over and get a sheet of 5/8" plywood and I think the Oreo's are at the end of that aisle.

In terms of organization and product diversity, Menards falls somewhere between a more traditional big box hardware store, like Home Depot, and a Mexican supermarket. I love it.

None of these are correct.

It's home Depot with like a scaled down regular Walmart (not super Walmart) size food section. I think they might have a walmarty camping type section too.

I remember watching CBS channel out of Lincoln as a kid. Had a Menards commercial every break it seemed. Good jingle too.

Yeah, this sounds about right, only walmarty rando stuff is kinda scattered throughout the store.

The one thing I'm not a big fan of (and I hope this isn't interpreted as me being critical of such an awesome store, but just constructive criticism): Menards' plant selection in the garden center is pretty weak compared to Lowes and HD.

Ranking big box garden centers, at least in my area, would be:

1. Lowes
...
2. Home Depot
...
3. Menards
4. Wal-Mart
